I think my desperation for anything involving tentacles has gotten out of control. Four stars is entirely too generous here. I'm aware of that, I know that and yet this is where I am right now and I must deal.Now she is very cute. Adorable even. And at no point did I cringe in pain because a cavity was starting to form. Ty and Eric were a cute couple and they worked well together. Where they fleshed out? Not really. They were still very 2D but considering the setting and the isolation and the force proximity of it all, you kind of let it go. Not to the extent that I'm not going to say anything about it but I won't side eye it too hard. Do I know who they were? No. Were they cute and did I greatly enjoy the smut? Very.And that is something that was well done. The slut. There was a lot of consent, which we love, and it was nice. I kind of wish the author had gone a little more risque with it. I mean it's tentacles and mpreg, you might as well go balls to the wall all out. I mean I can appreciate the more romantic/ vanilla approach to things but tentacles are kind of inherently kinky. You might as well have some fun. Or am I just being weird? This could just be a me thing. Either way she was enough frequent so.Now, tentacles and mpreg aside, the weird thing about this book is that it is both entirely too long and way too short all at once. How you might ask? Allow me to explain. This needed more descriptions. I spent a lot of time trying to imagine and visualize the Lagoon and their home when really the author should have done that for me. I also would have liked a little more emotion given to Ty. He was a very one note. And Eric could have used a stronger back story. Or the very least a backstory that genuine attention was given to. I think that would have added a little more meat to him and taken him from words on a page to a character.But then it was too long in the sense that the last two chapters, did they really need to be there. Probz not. Spend more time developing the characters, give us a nice epilogue, and done.I realize this sounds like a very meh and slightly harsh review but it really was kind of met. Especially towards the end. However, I genuinely did enjoy reading this. The first act of this book was great, it was super sweet and so adorable, and the babies were cute. If you like tentacles and mpreg, it's worth your time and coin. Plus there's not a lot of technical stuff out there that isn't ra-pey so any time an author writes it with informed consent, hats off.So with that said 3.5 stars but a well deserved round up is in order.
